This week marked MEA for my kids. Since our son Oliver was in Kindergarten, my wife Kimberly, has taken the opportunity to travel one on one with him. They have gone to a number of places over the years. After having to skip 2020, this year they came back in full force and spent a few days in Nashville, TN.Read more

Lady Gaga‚Äôs Meat Suit…
Now that I have your attention! I want to share a podcast that I have listened regularly for some time now. One episode is literally called Lady Gaga‚Äôs Meat Suit because they are discussion architecture and facades in towns like Hopkins. The comparison is to a bride, you never want to upstage the bride by wearing Lady Gaga‚Äôs Meat Suit to a wedding. Focusing on every building being ‚Äúthe bride‚ÄĚ is not a symbiotic way to manage town development.
We couldn’t pick just 5 today, so 7 it is! Hope you all had a great weekend, we visited some of our favorite local establishments including Munkabeans, 30 Bales, Mainstreet Bar & Grill, Hopkins Farmers Market, as well as hosting another meet & greet and attending Mainstreet Days and Movie in the Park! See you around town!Read more
As a town of roughly 20,000 people, in a 4 square mile area, we are very lucky to have our own Hopkins Fire Department and Hopkins Police Department. These services add to our community every day, they can reduce the rates of homeowner insurance, they keep us safe, they help make our residents feel secure with their local presence, and are also around to help our citizens celebrate. They show-up at events, work tirelessly while being under staffed & risk their lives for the community. Thank you will never be enough, and though it is certainly appreciated by those who serve, we also must elect a Mayor who will make it a priority to keep our local services and departments strong.Read more
