Sam’s Weekend in 5 Pictures

We love a good weekend here in the Stiele House. Sam’s Weekend in 5 Pictures will hopefully make you smile. Look at all the purple.

This week marked MEA for my kids. Since our son Oliver was in Kindergarten, my wife Kimberly, has taken the opportunity to travel one on one with him. They have gone to a number of places over the years. After having to skip 2020, this year they came back in full force and spent a few days in Nashville, TN.

Raspberry Fund

Mentoring is one of the most important actions we can take to support a strong city for years to come. Throughout my campaign, I have shared that a focus during my mayoral term will be mentoring others to lead in the future. Today I am proud to announce that I will use any funds generated from the office of Hopkins Mayor, typically going to the mayor themselves, plus some personal funds, to create a Raspberry Scholarship Fund. Funds will be donated for the lifetime of my service to the Hopkins Community.

Stiele History – Show Up

Stiele History goes deeper than just Sam. We have a history of showing up. The men in this picture have instilled that in me and my wife. Both of these great men served in the armed forces. My father-in-law (on the left) was in the Navy, my father (on the right) was in the Marines. If you see them around town, please say thank you. Not just for what they have done for our country, but for Hopkins as well.

One episode is literally called Lady Gaga’s Meat Suit because they are discussion architecture and facades in towns like Hopkins. The comparison is to a bride, you never want to upstage the bride by wearing Lady Gaga’s Meat Suit to a wedding. Focusing on every building being “the bride” is not a symbiotic way to manage town development.

We Support Hopkins Fire & Police

As a town of roughly 20,000 people, in a 4 square mile area, we are very lucky to have our own Hopkins Fire Department and Hopkins Police Department. These services add to our community every day, they can reduce the rates of homeowner insurance, they keep us safe, they help make our residents feel secure with their local presence, and are also around to help our citizens celebrate. They show-up at events, work tirelessly while being under staffed & risk their lives for the community. Thank you will never be enough, and though it is certainly appreciated by those who serve, we also must elect a Mayor who will make it a priority to keep our local services and departments strong.

We Lean Local

Local government impacts our lives perhaps more than any other vote we cast. When you think about who is at the helm in local government those are the people planning future city needs. Sometimes those needs are emergency services, engaging in discussions about schools, parks and developments as the community changes.
